One of the goals at Project Canaan is to provide employment for local Swazi’s and help them get out of poverty. In addition to employing 300+ Swazi’s there is also a need for long-term missionary help in specific capacities.

Heart for Africa is looking for a volunteer nurse (RN) to live on Project Canaan (PC) children’s campus and provide care to our almost 400 children calling PC home. Ideally the nurse would have at BSN and at least two years of pediatric clinical experience. See below for list of expectations and responsibilities:
– Assessing, diagnosing and treating within protocols
– Developing quality assurance tools
– Providing preventative care including vaccines and well child checks
– Collecting samples for lab tests and performing POC testing
– Assimilating within a different culture and lanquage
– Coordinating with local partners
– Imparting faith-based, evaluative care decisions
– Willingness to participate in a developing world medical environment and all the challenges therein
– Documenting and electronic charting across multiple digital systems
– Providing excellence in healthcare, while exuding compassion and adding a bit of humor
The job of the Spiritual Life Director is to develop and implement discipleship for the kids and adults of Project Canaan. Helping the kids and adults develop Biblical worldview, love God an others, and serve him according to their giftings.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pastor to join Project Canaan as a spiritual leader and mentor to the children and adults in our care. The Pastor will be responsible for providing spiritual guidance, pastoral care, and organizing discipleship activities. This role requires a deep commitment to God and serving others, strong leadership skills, and the ability to foster a nurturing and supportive environment.

– Ordained pastor with a recognized theological degree or equivalent qualification.
– Strong faith and a personal commitment to Christ-centered ministry.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children from diverse backgrounds.

– Experience in pastoral care, counseling, and leading worship services.
– Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed care is desirable.
– Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and community members.
– Sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
– Adherence to ethical guidelines and a high level of personal integrity.
